Best Thing About the Country?
The best thing about Canada is, there is a wide variety of people here and tons to do, Surrounded by mountains, and fruit trees everywhere, I have an apple tree, plum and pear tree in the yard. People are pretty friendly, and love people who are from South Africa.
Biggest Cultural Difference?
Some differences are: As we all know, we drive on the wrong side of the road here, yeah, that takes getting used to. I found that people can afford and enjoy eating at restaurants, and driving for a few hours to get somewhere in a day is quite acceptable.
Top Things to Do or See?
If you ever come to visit go and see Stanley park in Vancouver: It has parks, beaches, pools, totem poles, huge trees, trams, tons of wildlife, flower gardens, and the aquarium. A must see for anyone.
My life is busy and full of energy and excitement. I have friends as far south, as South Africa, to North, in Chilliwack, British Columbia. My life consists of Working as a nurse’s aide, to raising three amazing kids to taking pictures of the beaches and skyline of Vancouver. Also, meeting new people every day is a goal of mine, as is making one person smile every day. I love to go on long walks in the evening with family and enjoy the wonderful mountains British Columbia has all around. Although the beach is an hour away, it reminds me of Sunny South Africa. And it makes my heart glad to know, that I was born and raised there. A part of me is always there, and I hope to one day, takes my kids to see it and to meet the wonderful people in it.
