Best Thing About the Country?
The cleanliness, and the feeling of being safe.
Biggest Cultural Difference?
There is not such a big diversity of different cultures here.
Top Things to Do or See?
Go see snow, and maybe try snowboarding. Go up the Skytower in Auckland. See the steam rising out the ground at Rotorua.

I was born and raised in Durban. And besides travelling a bit around SA, Durban was basically all I knew. It was very sad to see it decline over the last few years from a clean colourful city, to a kind of drab place where locals wouldn’t even go to the beach.

In 2000 I travelled to Australia and spent a month there with a friend of mine who is also an expat South African. And I knew from then I wanted to live overseas.

When my parents got their residency for New Zealand it gave me the go to move here. I came over with my boyfriend also from Durban and we have been here a year and a half.

SA will always have a place in my heart, but New Zealand is my home now.
