IMPORTANT NOTICE!
WELCOME, You are in the old website section up to 2011, please click HOME to view the website in the new 2012 design and system. THANK YOU!
This trip has been one of my most eventful. I have had experiences that will definitely stay in my memory banks. I have learnt a lot about myself and other people. Korea has shown me that life is way too short to worry about the small things in life. Korea has millions of possibilities but you have to get off your bum and try new things. The one thing I would suggest you do is respect the Korean culture while here. If you respect them they will respect you.
I came to Korea to teach English, but I have never taught in my life before. You will find out that everyone who comes to Korea is escaping some sort of time in their life, as I was as well. All I needed was a degree; medical clearance and police clearance (make sure you have an apostles!) and they pay for flight here and back home; they pay for your accommodation and all you have to pay is power, gas and water. Safety is not a problem compared to South Africa on all accounts!
It was an escape that turned into one of the best decisions in my life! The independence I have in Korea is one of excitement and responsibility. I have the nights to myself and the weekends to do what I like. For the most part it’s getting out of my apartment and party with my friends. I have also been able to travel to Thailand and Japan, which was definitely one of the best times of my life!
