In support of two South Africans who wish to ride from London to Cape Town over six months, The Walkabout in Wimbledon will be hosting an Emergency Services Party over the bank weekend on 2 May 2010. All proceeds will go to the charity Born Free.

On 1 September 2010, Dean Fielden and Erich Rettermayer will begin a 24,000km journey on motorcycles, from London to Cape Town via West Africa.

You have probably seen many others attempt to do this on all modes of transort, including the TV series The Long Way Down which saw Ewan McGregor and Charlie Borman tackle the trip... Now its the turn of two South Africans from London who intend to take six months to complete the trip.

The aim of their trip is to support Born Free, an international wildlife charity which aims to 'keep wildlife in the wild'. We hope to raise awareness through our trip and to join their support projects along the way in order to help out in which ever way is most needed, a percentage of any financial support we may receive will go to Born Free.

See the SA PROMO online events guide for full details of the 2 May event at Walkabout Wimbledon.
