Over the past ten years Nik Rabinowitz has established himself as one of his country’s premier stand-up comics, and in 2010 starred alongside eight of SA’s top funnymen in “Bafunny Bafunny” at The Royal Albert Hall.
He followed this up with a performance on BBC 2’s Mock the Week during the Football World Cup, and is now on his way back to London with a one man tour de farce* that satirises the State of the Rainbow Nation. With insightful wit and an acrobatic tongue, Rabinowitz darts between local African languages, an ability that was nurtured on the farm he grew up on just outside Cape Town, where he spent many years climbing trees and commentating on his own rugby games in at least three of South Africa’s eleven official languages.
In 2008 he was awarded “SA Stand-up of the Year” for having established himself as the world’s leading Xhosa-speaking Jewish comedian.Rabinowitz’s animated and offbeat humour astutely captures the goat-eat-goat world of South Africa in an hour of rollicking delight.

* * *See NIK RABINOWITZ live at The Soho Theatre, London on April 21st, 22nd and 23rd. Tickets are £15 each and available via the venue – or online. Check it out and book now at http://www.sohotheatre.com
