With the 2009 Formula 1 season having just started, all petrol heads will be rearing to get behind the wheel and feel the speed, adrenaline and excitement of wheel to
wheel racing.

SA Promo visited the Teamsport Go Karting track in North London to see who would reign supreme.

We arrived at the track and were giving a brief health and safety talk before suiting up into our racing gear. We could feel the nervous excitement as we got into our 200cc karts. A few practice laps later and it was GO GO GO, and we were racing. The track was incredibly fast and wide with plenty of overtaking happening through the race. With each lap we got braver, and threw our karts full speed into corners, where one mistake could have been costly. The thrill of chasing down your competitor and then passing them is awesome.

We raced for 15 minutes and when the checkered flag came out victory was mine, and how sweet it was. The top drivers were only point two of a split second outside the track record and we vowed to chase it down in race two.

A short break in proceedings gave us some time to grab a drink and chat about the race before we were out battling again. Race two was frantic and yielded the same result. Unfortunately the lap record evaded us again.

A great time was had by all, and the racing bug has definitely bitten. I can’t wait to get behind the wheel again and feel that adrenaline rush.
