It’s always exciting to hear of and visit new South African restaurants and bars in the UK. As it turns out, my very first SA restaurant I visited was Chakalaka in Putney, so when they invited SA PROMO for their Chiswick branch opening, I made sure I was there.

Chiswick is a very affluent area of West London and Chakalaka’s new restaurant and lounge bar is located five minutes walk from Chiswick Park station on the District Line.

Chakalaka Chiswick comprises of two floors, a ground floor restaurant and a top floor lounge bar.
It has a very warm and welcoming feel, which will keep you going back for more. The decor is in true African style and the shape of the building contributes to achieving a warm and relaxing atmosphere .

We started the evening in the extremely comfortable lounge bar upstairs for cocktails, then went downstairs where we enjoyed a Chakalaka true quality South African three course meal and afterwards, strolled back upstairs for a few nightcaps to round off the evening.

The food, the drinks, the service, the location and the decor were all superb!
