South Africans living abroad are increasingly shopping online for property in Cape Town and figures show that residential Claremont, currently tops their list.
Bev Bloch, Pam Golding Properties Southern suburbs Development Head says an increasing number of South Africans living abroad are enquiring about buying property in Cape Town.
She says her group alone was fielding about 30 offshore enquiries per month. One development finding favour with those enquiring from abroad was The Quadrant in Claremont where already 14% of the buyers are ex pats investing from abroad.
“The main attraction to The Quadrant it seems, aside from its contemporary design features, is its location and a range of affordable, modern ‘live, work and play’ facilities. These include a fully-equipped gym and pool, exclusive restaurant, bar and public library on the property.
“The Quadrant offers city living with the added advantage of security, space and tranquility that the leafy Southern suburbs of Cape Town are famous for,” she says.
“We have found the global recession has underscored a trend among investors to seek far greater value for their money. Location and the kind of living an area offers have become very important factors for buyers when weighing up purchasing decisions.”
In order to assist offshore property investors, Bloch is going to the UK next month where she will be presenting property investment opportunities and market information to would-be buyers. To book an appointment or for further details email
