African Music Awards set for Wembley in 2010

Published Date

The African Music Awards (AMAs) have been set for 15 October and will this year be held at Wembley Arena in London.

After its successful launch in 2008 the awards have become a fixture in the London entertainment calendar and have attracted some of Africa's best talent from around the world. This year’s event looks set to make major strides towards becoming one of Africa's premier events globally and lists the likes of Unicef as a beneficiary.

UK based marketing company Quartz Marketing has been appointed as the marketing consultants for this annual event. Quartz will be providing services that include the development of a social media marketing campaign, PR consultancy as well as assistance with securing sponsorship for the event.

Quartz Marketing has among other things helped Zimfest increase its coverage and realise a massive jump in sponsorship interest and conversion. Director Mike Tashaya indicated that the AMAs represent a major opportunity and challenge for the company but that the team was looking forward to taking on this challenge.

Speaking about this year’s event, organiser Eric McKaiser said, "We are looking to take the awards to the next level by improving on its execution and infrastructure including the move to the Wembley Arena which we are excited about."
