Air Namibia is to suspend its service from Gatwick to Windhoek from the end of May.
Namibia's flag-carrier said it had reassessed the demand for the route given current economic conditions and decided it could reduce losses by stopping the route.
The last flight from the Namibian capital departs on May 28 while the last UK departure is on May 29.
Air Namibia stressed that the London route had only been suspended until further notice and it will continue to operate five flights a week from its primary European gateway in Frankfurt.
The airline assured passengers and associates affected by the suspension that it will make every effort to offer alternatives. It will also maintain its current presence in the UK via its local office and sales team.
A dedicated team has been set up to manage enquiries regarding the suspension. Passengers and the industry can contact Air Namibia for further details: www.airnamibia.com.na
