Ernie Els scored his first win in two years when he captured the World Golf Championship at Doral. Just two weeks later, he has notched up a second PGA victory, and is now one of the favourites for the upcoming US Masters after winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill.

The South African star had to take a slightly longer path to victory than he would have liked after rain forced the tournament into a Monday finish. Els was left to play four holes with a two-shot lead.

He had been cruising to an easy win before slipping to a double-bogey on the 13th and a bogey on the 14th.
