SA artists support Haiti

South Africa's Mango Groove, Rebecca Malope, Prime Circle, Steve Hofmeyr and Watershed have joined the relief effort in the aftermath of Haiti's devastating earthquakes.

They are among the more than 50 recording artists from EMI Music around the globe who have teamed up with the Red Cross for the ‘Answer the Call’ campaign.

It features audio and images from musical artists encouraging fans to take action by donating to their local Red Cross to aid their relief efforts in Haiti.

Artists from all corners of the globe - spanning regions including North and South America, Africa, Europe and Australia - are recording audio and video public service announcements in English and in their native languages where applicable.  EMI Music labels and artist representatives will be servicing the PSAs to local, national and international media outlets, and will also be making them available for blogs, websites and individuals to download and/or share them on social networking platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Bebo and more.

"It is beautiful to see the overwhelming support from the artist community around the world. We hope others will follow their lead and help the Red Cross provide aid where it is most urgently needed for the people of Haiti," said EMI's Billy Mann who initiated the PSA program with the American Red Cross.
