Adam Glasser - Soweto 2010

On Thursday June 9th South African harmonica virtuoso Adam Glasser will be appearing at the Landmark Arts Centre, Teddington, south west London performing a unique evening of melodic township jazz standards and original compositions from his award winning album "Free at First" and his soon to be released new album "Mzansi". Adam will be accompanied by top British jazz musicians Robin Apsland (piano), Alec Dankworth (bass) and Frank Tontoh (drums).

One of the UK's leading chromatic harmonica players, Adam Glasser has appeared with Sting, The Eurythmics and the London Philharmonic Orchestra amongst others.

In 2010 Adam won "Best Contemporary Jazz Album" in the South African Music Awards for his CD "Free at First", which received superb reviews including:

"superb from start to finish and should firmly establish Glasser as the heir apparent to Toots Thielemans " Thomas R. Erdmann - Jazz Review

"virtuosity and panache... a wholly impressive evening's music from a man in complete control of his considerable resources’. Chris Parker - Vortex Live Review
