Outrageous, South Africa's first ever stand-up comedy film, seems set to take South Africa by storm when it is released on Friday 9 April 2010.
Filmed at the Big Top Arena at Sun International's Carnival City Casino in Brakpan, east of Johannesburg, Outrageous follows the group of comedians through a huge, no-holds barred stand-up session.
At the beginning of production, the cast was given a brief that no punches be held back, no sacred cows be left off the braai, and no fussing over cussing. And they certainly took that brief to heart: the film carries an age restriction of 16 for language. According to the press release, Outrageous is a film for people who don’t flinch when the “f” word flies faster than an SAA crew taking narcotics abroad.
