(RED)'s cause is to fight AIDS in Africa. Together with Mashable, (RED) have declared 23 September 'Social Good Day', with the intention of encouraging people across the world to use social media for social good!

Around the world, people are invited to attend or organise a meetup in your community to celebrate, share, educate and engage in a discussion on how social media can be used to tackle some of the world’s social challenges and issues, in particular how it can be used to help fight AIDS in Africa.

Say the organisers, "Social media has become a critical tool for many socially-focused organisations. We’re interested in unleashing fresh thinking around how social media can raise awareness and create solutions for social issues around the world. We want to know, “What’s your solution?” Let the world hear your ideas through social media!"
