SPOTLIGHT: What's on - week 16

Published Date
30 April 2010

Following Freedom Day celebrations, it is now a bank holiday weekend up ahead – the first one in May and with another one to follow at the end of May, we urge you to get outside!

1. Get down to Kew Gardens for a SA landscape

Key Gardens is gorgeous in spring time, and with a SA landscape display, you can also see a little bit of home!

2. Mayday Mayday – Emergency Services Party raising money for the Born Free Foundation

Get down to the Wimbledon Walkabout on 2 May for a bank holiday party to raise awareness and funds for the Born Free Foundation which aims to keep wild animals in the wild! Two intrepid SA travelers are behind this initiative, as they will depart in September to undertake the trek from London to Cape Town on motorbikes!

3. Celebrate Freedom Day your own way – perhaps with a picnic or braai!

Why not gather some mates together and enjoy the impending summer in the UK, either by heading on down to a local park for a picnic or borrowing someone’s garden for that first braai of the season!
