The Vodacom Stormers put the disappointment of their opening tour match behind them as they bounced back with an important 33-21 win over the Blues in Auckland on Saturday.
For the first time this season the Stormers conceded more than two tries, and they missed an astonishing number of tackles against a Blues team that was forced to play catch-up from an early stage of the match.
But with the pack laying the platform, and the back row, lock Andries Bekker and hooker Tiaan Liebenberg in particularly impressive form, the Cape team thoroughly deserved the win which propelled them, even if only momentarily, back into second place on the log.
