Ahead of Arno Carstens' show at the Hard Rock Cafe in London tonight 22 March, SA PROMO Magazine caught up with Arno Carstens to ask him what else is in store for 2010 and what he's been doing since meeting his international agent.

What does 2010 hold for you?

The music itself is going very well. I met  lots of people while we were making my third solo album, Wonderful Wild and those associations are keeping me busy even still.

I am still writing loads of new stuff, Mike Rutherford and I are writing together, for the new Mike & The Mechanics album, which is a lot of fun. I hope to do some other writing and recording projects this year too, with a couple of other artists while I am in London.

In March I have just done a UK tour with Ronan Keating, and I am going on tour with Ultravox in April, which I am very excited about.I am planning to be back to SA in May and June this year to launch the album there and hang out until the World Cup, then head back to London for the UK summer touring months. I will hopefully be back in SA in November this year for a big album tour.

Things keep changing, so it is difficult for me to give a proper plan.

What have you been doing in recent years since meeting your international agent?

A few years back I met John Giddings (who is now my manager and agent), pretty much by chance, and ever since then he has been involved in my career. John happened to catch one of my shows in South Africa in December 2006. We kept in touch and soon after, he booked me to play the main stage at the legendary Isle of Wight Festival, in the UK, where that year, the Rolling Stones were headlining. Two weeks later we opened for the Stones in Europe. Since then, I haven’t really stopped.

John is the agent for a number of artists and he is also the European promoter to The Rolling Stones, The Police, Madonna and U2 and many more.

I have performed at Glastonbury, V Festival, T in the Park and Hard Rock Calling and supported bands like Paul Weller, The Police, Simple Minds and Meat Loaf on European tours. I also wrote and recorded this new album, Wonderful Wild during this time.
