The song that made former president Nelson Mandela stand up and jive shortly after he was released from prison 20 years ago has been revamped and sung by international superstars for the official World Cup album.

The song Sekunjalo Ke Nako, meaning 'Now is the Time' and penned by Cape Town-based singer and songwriter John Pretorius, has been included on Listen Up! The Official World Cup Album.

Sekunjalo Ke Nako was first performed in front of 120,000 people at the Grand Parade rally in Cape Town, hours after Mandela was released from 27 years in prison.

As the rally continued, Pretorius, then a school teacher, took the stage and, as he sang, Mandela broke into the now famous 'Madiba Jive'. Pretorius now goes by the name 'J Pre' and he, along with international superstar Wyclef Jean, five-time Grammy nominee Jazmine Sullivan and this year's most-anticipated new artist, B Howard, perform the song.
