Just a month after SA act Die Antwoord signed to Interscope - an American record label renowned for platinum-selling artists such as Dr Dre, Eminem and 50 cent - a retro-electro duo from South Africa, known as Locnville, have signed a worldwide deal with Sony Music International.

Locnville consists of twin brothers Andrew and Brian Chaplin. The brothers were born in New York, but grew up in SA and consider South Africa home!

Their performance at the MIDEM International Music Conference in France in January this year is said to have sparked huge international interest from major record labels around the world.

Their single and album, both entitled Sun In My Pocket, will be released around the world on Sony’s Jive Records imprint, except in the UK where it will be released on Sony’s Epic Records imprint.  Jive houses some of the world’s biggest recording artists including Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Usher and R Kelly.

Brian Chaplin said it was a dream come true for them and they were honoured to be on the same label as some of their favourite artists.
