- That his left hand was permanently disabled in an accident at the age of 14.

- In his efforts to inspire disabled people, Black Coffee has started the Black Coffee Foundation, to raise funds for the disabled. He aims to provide them with wheel chairs, education facilities, musical instruments  and other things that may improve their lives.

- He began his DJ career in 1994 while still at high school.

- While studying music at Natal Technikon, he started Shana, a band that has recorded and released four albums.

- In 2006, Black Coffee triumphed in the category of Best Dance Album at the prestigious South African Music Awards.

- Played at MIDEM Music conference in Cannes, France in January 2010.
