The story of The Parlotones and ash...

From performing at the 16th SAMAs last week Saturday, to winning two awards on the night too, The Parlotones then flew down to Cape Town early the next morning to play to a bunch of Live Earth enthusiasts who had gotten up early on a Sunday morning to 'walk for water' - a 6km fun run in aid of sustainable water awareness. This private show was only for those who participated in the event, continuing Kahn and The Parlotone's commitment to climate, earth and conservation activities.

Having only just made it to the SAMAs on the Saturday from Germany amidst all the ash chaos of the Icelandic volcano, The Parlotones were due to fly out to the UK to start their UK tour on 19 April. Alas, with flights being grounded, so too were these guys for a day or so.

But as airports re-opened in Europe, so The Parlotones headed back to Europe for some gigs in Germany before heading to the UK to start the tour on Friday 23 April with UK band, ironically named, Ash.

Kahn and the guys are very active on their Facebook group, posting videos of life backstage as well as a stopover at Kahn's favourite football club, also ironically name As(h)ton Villa.
