Mozambique is a ribbon-like country, the coastline lapped by the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. So it’s hardly surprising that when most people think of Mozambique, the first image that springs to mind is of sandy, palm-fringed beaches.

An African safari of a different kind, a tropical getaway in the village of Nhabanga, Just In Time Prime Holiday Resort in Mozambique, is ideal for a fun and relaxing holiday far from crowds. This lush tropical haven is known for its astonishing inland lake, 5km wide and 14km long, and perfect for water sports. A barefoot paradise where the only requirement is total relaxation, with an environment that is uniquely preserved and in a place where the only intruders are the birds!

The view from Nhabanga is of breathtaking serenity with lavish flora, peace and tranquility, lush vegetation and white sands. The chalets are self-catering with air con, hot water and each has its own braai area too. Fresh fish, lobster and prawns are always available in abundance. You can enjoy sundowners everyday, a place where time is measured by the setting of the sun.

There are various shops and a market near Bilene where basic products can be bought. Although one may feel content with enjoying the beautiful surroundings or swimming in the lake (which is very safe for kids), there’s also plenty to do. Activities include biking, quad biking, windsurfing, kite surfing, fishing, ferry trips, curio shopping, swimming, kayaking, snorkeling and scuba diving. For those seeking a more relaxed holiday, the bar is stocked with an endless supply of ice cold 2Ms and Laurentinas (local beers) as well as the national drink R&R (local rum and raspberry Sparletta) or lazing in the sun is another option.

At Just In Time Prime Holiday Resort, Nhabanga, the tranquility is enhanced by the sound of the waves lapping on the beach, a place where the evening stars can be viewed in all their glory away from polluted cities – a true African paradise.
