For thousands of years travellers have been coming to Egypt to marvel at the Pyramids, the Sphinx, ancient Luxor and the River Nile. Steeped in history, these monuments to a once great civilisation still capture the imagination of travellers today.

Egypt has so often been described as the gift of the Nile and a cruise along the river is for many the experience of a lifetime. There can be no finer way to discover the riches of Egypt than to cruise along the mighty Nile, worshipped by its people since time immemorial.

Too often, so-called ‘cultural’ tours are a letdown – a felucca trip here, a visit to the pyramids there, perhaps a day or two in Luxor and Aswan. However, Egypt is not just about monuments as it has much more to offer the modern traveller, including some of the best snorkelling and scuba-diving in the world.

The vast majority of Egypt’s inhabitants live in the Nile valley and delta, and the rest of the country is sparsely populated.

The valley of the “long river between the deserts,” with the annual floods, deposits of life-giving silt, and year-long growing season, was the seat of one of the earliest civilizations built by humankind. The antiquity of this civilization is almost staggering, and whereas the history of other lands is measured in centuries, that of ancient Egypt is measured in millennia.

The classic Nile cruise is an ideal way to see the fabulous sights of Upper Egypt. The Nile cruises offer a good standard of accommodation with warm, friendly service creating a relaxed and intimate cruising experience. This Nile cruise operates on a full board basis with buffet breakfast followed by lunch and dinner all buffet style offering a range of international dishes. Most cruises have a lounge bar which is the perfect place to relax on comfortable sofas and enjoy a drink whilst watching the evening entertainment. Other facilities usually include a sundeck with plunge pool and sun beds plus a gift shop.
