Rustenburg: Royal Bafokeng Stadium

Once a simple platinum mining town now soon to be the base camp for the England national squad, Rustenburg has had a major facelift for this year’s World Cup and so have surrounding attractions.

- Sun City. A true wonder in the wilderness this resort complex includes tropical gardens at the Cascades Hotel, faux ruins and carvings of a mythological ancient civilisation at The Palace of the Lost City, a water park at the Valley of the Waves, Gary Player golf courses with crocodiles at the 13th hole, hot air balloon rides over the entire complex and a sky train which links them all together.

- Kgaswane Game Reserve offers guided day-hikes.

- Madikwe Game Reserve specialises in malaria-free, family safaris.

- The Pilanesberg Game Reserve which holds the big five.

- The Hartebeesport Dam is surrounded by an aquarium, cableway, zoo, arts and crafts route, snake park and beautiful mountain hikes.
