Ingredients:
- ½ cup apricot Jam
- ½ cup margarine
- ½ cup milk
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1½ cup flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- ½ teaspoon salt
Syrup:
- 4 cups water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
Method:
Boil the jam and margarine together. Dissolve the baking soda in the milk and add to jam and margarine. Remove from heat. Stir in flour, cinnamon, ginger and salt gradually. Make the syrup in a saucepan and heat until it starts to boil. Add spoonfuls of the dough into the boiling syrup. Cover and let it cook slowly on a low heat until dough is cooked and syrup is thick and tasty
Serve with ice cream or custard
