Well it is said that in the 60’s they, Chicken Farmers, looked for a way to increase profits so a process was developed where the left over bits including tendants, eye balls, meat left on the bone etc, are all mashed up to form a paste.
Now they have to make sure it’s clean so they then clean it with ammonia, yes… AMMONIA!
But… that makes it taste bitter so to help with the taste they add artificial flavouring.
But… the paste is still pink so to help with the colour they add artificial colouring.
So the next time you enjoy Chicken Nuggets, think of the Pink Paste and the LONG chemical process your processed Chicken had to survive to end up on your plate.
