Way back in 2013 when we first started with Zabroad, we bumped into Dizu Plaatjies in Borneo. Dizu and the Ibuyambo ensemble performed at the Rainforest World Music festival. Their workshop on war dancing against an Australian tribe was the highlight of the day. In the evening, they rocked the main stage with African rhythms that made us so homesick we cried!
Borneo is also famous for its declining number of Orang Utan. We visit the Semengoh sanctuary to hang out with these amazing animals. Have you ever shopped on a boat on a river in the middle of the jungle? No? We have and we bring you the footage to prove it!
