Well, before you sit down to the gorgeous view of the river Thames with an Argentine bottle of wine and steak, ask for two people; the waiter, Ryan and the chef, Damon. These blokes know their Malbec from their Krug Grand Cuvee NV and their Bife De Cuadril (rump) from their Bife De Lomo (fillet) and will make your meal all the more enjoyable!
The main menu is varied from scallops and foie gras to chicken and salads although it was the great steak menu that was my deal clincher! Rump, sirloin, fillet, rib-eye starting from £12.25 spiralling to £75 for the Gaucho sampler (1,200g for all four cuts). The wine list is as long as my arm and needed some translation from our waiter for me to finally settle on the Susana Balbo Malbec which was fab after a bit of breathing time.
We all know that Gaucho is a tad pricy but coming from a meat and wine loving country like SA, I am happy to shell out a couple of extra pounds for this 5 star menu and service. Besides, I felt right at home with our waiter and manager being South African and evidently all the décor is done by a SA lady too!
Oh, and if you are feeling lazy then Gaucho will deliver to your door step too – eish!!
