South Africa needs no introduction to house music, as it has been said that we love the genre so much that we consume a quarter of the world’s total house music. House is played on commercial radio stations 24/7 and is the genre of choice over hip hop or pop for the majority of the population. As a matter of fact the South African Music Awards has 20 records nominated for record of the year, 12 of which are house/dance records.
