Asteroid 7482 ( 1994 PC1) has safely passed earth. The asteroid is estimated to be a kilometer wide. The rock is said to have passed earth within 1.2 million miles.

According to NASA, this comet does not come close to the  Florence comet that passed earth on September 1st in 2017. The comet is said to be approximately 5.5 miles wide.

Redirecting the asteroid

Scientist first noticed a very bright light and was unsure of what it was at first. They them discovered that it was an asteroid on it’s way to earth. N at this point they sought a solution to their problem.

Upon the discovery of the comet, scientists then put a plan in action to have the comet go into another direction other than on it’s way to earth. Although it is smaller, the comet can cause a lot of destruction.

Luckily for us the comet had moved safely past earth on Tuesday the 18th January. So, the Florence asteroid has passed earth in 2017 but is expected to come pass again in 2057.

According to CNN, comets that are within a 30 million kilometer radius is considered to be dangerous to earth. In September this year an aircraft will deliberately move into a comet to change it’s direction.
