Bafana star another victim of SA crime

Another act of senseless violence in South Africa and another incident to remind the likes of Steve Hofmeyr and his mindless cronies that it is not only whites being targeted by crime that is spiralling out of control in SA. Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates captain Senzo Meyiwa was shot dead trying to protect his girlfiend from cellphone robbers who entered her home.

Bafana star another victim of SA crime

Gauteng Community Safety MEC Sizakele Nkosi-Malubane who visited the crime scene in Vosloorus where Meyiwa was shot and killed said he was trying to protect his Afro-Pop singer and girlfriend, Kelly Khumalo, when the shooting happened.

“Two guys entered the house and demanded cellphones, money and other valuables. Senzo tried to protect Kelly because one of the men had a gun pointed towards her.” When Meyiwa jumped to protect Khumalo, he was shot in the back and the bullet came out through his chest.
Meyiwa was pronounced dead on arrival at the Botshelong Hospital.
Meyiwa was in action on Saturday when Pirate beat Ajax Cape Town 4-1 at the Orlando Stadium. He had playing for Bafana Bafana in recent months, and in the four AFCON qualifiers played to date he was yet to concede a goal.
Police said in a statement there were 7 people in the house. Two suspects went into the house, one remained outside. The 3 fled on foot after the shooting.
This is the second death of a SA sportsman in. Olympic 800m silver medallist Mbulaeni Mulaudzi was killed in a car crash on Friday.
