Bankrupt ANC wants more state money

No wonder the ANC is calling for the radical funding of political parties by the state – the poor sods are bankrupt!<br />While rumours persist that the former freedom movement – now governing party – is at the point of begging in the streets, the weekly Mail & Guardian reports some workers at ANC headquarters - Luthuli House - have not been paid for at least two months.

Bankrupt ANC wants more state money

Reports at home suggest the ANC secretary-general Gwede Mantashe admitted his party is struggling following a R20m decrease in electoral funding when it lost 16 parliamentary seats in the last national elections.
Mantashe apparently told angry staff: “Bear with us… the ship is tight”.
News24 quotes of its rags – City Press – which said the ANC wanted more money for political parties. We can thus expect legislation to be passed soon to line their own pockets.
Private funding for the ANC has dwindled. And why are we not surprised? Companies being forced into costly BEE deals and compromises will be reluctant to support the ANC. Private companies are also paying enough taxes – from eTolls to everything, and they need to provide their own security services as the police is left castrated by government intervention and BBEEE shenanigans.
