Buthelezi has recently been experiencing some health-related issues with reason. The 93-year-old currently has high blood pressure and has been urged to stay home to rest. Regardless, Buthelezi does not seem to be thinking about retirement.
Buthelezi treated for hypertension
A spokesperson for the family said the IFP founder was being treated at a hospital for hypertension. There is currently no word on what else may be wrong but has been promised to be communicated soon enough. The family said that they admitted the prince to an unnamed hospital due to concerns for his health.
“On Tuesday afternoon, his doctors felt it wise for him to be admitted to hospital for all the necessary checks, as this would also allow him to get some much-needed rest,”
The Prince feels his work is not done yet
Now, it seems that the prince feels his work with South Africa is unfinished. This motivates his decision to continue working regardless of his stressful schedule. Presently, the MP is in high spirits and is feeling well. Everyone has been urged to remain calm and not stress about the state of health Buthelezi is in as he is doing well.

So, in 2019 Buthelezi officially stepped down as president of the IFP but is still the MP of the party. According to the prince, his work is undone until the issue of land is resolved.
According to the Citizen, Buthelezi has contracted Covid-19 more than once but was asymptomatic and had to self-isolate. The former IFP leader has been double vaccinated. Now, his first infection was due to being in contact with a positive case. By the time he had been infected with his second case, he was relatively asymptomatic at the time.
Let’s hope land issues are resolved soon!
