The serial cat murderer, dubbed the Manenberg Cat Killer, has struck again bringing the total number of dead feline victims to 11.
On Thursday, the Animal Welfare Society of South Africa (AWS) pleaded with the public to assist in raising funds as a reward to capture the despicable human who has been killing and gutting cats in Manenberg in Cape Town.
Sadly, the monster managed to kill a further three cats on Thursday night and is still at large.
In a post on Facebook, AWS explained what transpired.
“On Thursday last week (15 Jul) we alerted the public to cats and kittens being viciously killed in Manenberg.Last night the killer struck again slicing and disembowelling another 3 adult cats from head to tail before flinging their mutilated carcasses into the yards of homes in Dwyka and Venster Streets.
“The images of the dead cats that accompanied this morning’s report are too ghastly for words. They paint a picture of a seriously deranged individual or group of individuals (there are suspicions that these horrific incidents may be gang related) with an evil blood-lust.Over the past 10 days these revolting beings have mercilessly tortured and butchered 11 cats making this one if the largest animal killing sprees the Cape Metro has ever witnessed.
“Our Inspectorate is working around the clock and following up on all leads to catch the perpetrator(s) but our efforts are being stone-walled by a community gripped with fear.According to a Community WhatsApp Group message 2 dead cats (that we have excluded from the total of 11) where dumped on the pavement outside the local Police station as if to taunt the authorities,” they said.
The community are afraid to get involved but this monster has to be stopped at all costs. AWS asked anyone who can assist to contact them urgently on 021 692 2626 or 082 601 1761 (after hours) – callers can remain anonymous.
