Cyril Ramaphosa and Sisulu still seem to be at one another’s throats. Sisulu states that Cyril’s team misrepresented their meeting. In a statement released by Sisulu, she states that she did not intend to apologize for anything she wrote in the article. She adds that the president did not represent this meeting to the public in its true form.
This is her statement as reported by the Daily Maverick.
To all Media Houses,
I have just been informed of a media alert issued by the Presidency that apparently claims that I Lindiwe N. Sisulu retracted my original expression.
I wish to categorically disown this statement in its entirety as a misrepresentation of the said meeting I had with the president. The president and I met on Wednesday at 9 pm at his house. In such a meeting, he shared his challenge with one aspect of the article on the judges. The president proposed an intermediary that would focus on the one line about the judges to resolve that. I awaited such to be communicated which would do nothing to the entire article.

Under no circumstances did I commit to any retraction or apology since I stand by what I penned.
The content of the president’s statement in its current form is unfortunate as it is not what we agreed on. In this regard, I wish to distance myself from such.
I will in the next 24 hours issue a full statement.
Lindiwe N. Sisulu
Cyril Ramaphosa expressed distaste for the Sisulu article
In her article, Sisulu expressed her contempt for the justice system and accused all those in power of abusing it. She stated that if the law fails us, it will inevitably play out in the streets as the justice system failed to give the people what they deserved. To demonstrate her statement, she referred to the looting that took place in July 2021.
Presently, it looks like Sisulu does not intend to apologize for anything she has said thus far and continues to stand by what she said. Upon publishing her article, she received a lot of criticism. However, she did not seem phased by it.
According to ewn, a statement released by the presidency stated that Lindiwe Sisulu was admonished by the incumbent. Additionally, she added that the meeting with the president ended on good terms. So, will this saga ever end?
