Rumours are that the Democratic Alliance and AgangSA are expected to announce their merger. According to ENCA, citing a source of their own, the parties are set to announce their merger at a press conference in Cape Town.
DA executive chairperson James Selfe could not “confirm or deny” the talks, only confirming that an important press conference is set to take place. “I mean, it is obviously a good idea to consolidate into a single political force. And that has been why we did the deal we did with the Independent Democrats,” Selfe said when asked whether a potential merger was a good idea, reported iafrica.com.
