Malikah Shabazz was found dead in her apartment shared with her daughter. Malikah was 56 years old.
After suffering from a long-term illness, Malikah Shabazz has succumbed to her illness. It has not been confirmed what illness she had suffered from as some tests are still to be done.
No suspcious activity in death of Malikah
The police have noted that Malikah has died of natural causes and do not suspect any foul play in the death of the daughter of late Malcolm X.
Malikah’s death comes just four days after 2 men involved in her father’s assassination were exonerated. This comes as there is new evidence that has come to light, which undermines the case against them.
Death of Malcolm X
On the day her late father was killed, Her mother Betty Shabazz was pregnant with her and her twin Malaak and would give birth to them 7 months after their father’s death.
In June, Miss Shabazz pleaded guilty to an identity theft charge, admitting she opened up credit cards in the name of Khaula Bakr, 70, the wife of one of the slain civil rights leader’s bodyguards.
Queens prosecutors say Shabazz conned Bakr into turning over her personal information by telling her she needed it for child care paperwork. Bakr realized something was wrong when she got a letter from her bank demanding $30,000.
Malikah and Malaak are the two youngest sisters of Malcolm X sisters.
