All tourism sightseeing buses in Johannesburg have suspended operations for today (Wednesday, April 25) because we have – another – strike and protest action coming up. This one could also get ugly.
Mandi Jarman, Marketing Manager at City Sightseeing South Africa says due to the South African Federation of Trade Unions (Saftu) planned strike they have suspended their Johannesburg bus services. “Travelling through the streets of Johannesburg becomes problematic with the added traffic caused by a strike. Our decision to suspend services is purely because of these logistics problems, and not related to our drivers.”
TourismUpdate reports Cape Town services will not be affected. Visitors using the hop-on-hop-off bus service in Cape Town are, however, warned of possible delays.
To keep track of developments, visitors are encouraged to keep checking City Sightseeing South Africa’s website or call +27 (0)861 733 287.
