Journalist Karyn Maughan tweeted: ”Another three weeks in jail for #OscarPistorius – his parole review set down for Friday 18 September”.
Pistorius was convicted of culpable homicide shooting and killing his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine’s Day in 2013. Despite the state taking his conviction of culpable homicide on appeal, he maintains he mistook her for an intruder when he shot her through a door in his home toilet. He was supposed to have been released on correctional supervision last Friday, but the Minister of Justice asked for a review after protests by women’s rights movement.
