The load-shedding schedule hasn’t been touched for a few days now until Eskom decided to implement power cuts on short notice.
While people have been accusing Eskom of negligence, it has recently come to their attention that the power stations are targets for sabotage. The reasons for it haven’t been evident as yet.
The CEO, Andre De Ruyter has come to the conclusion that the recent power cuts were a result of sabotage in which individuals are trying to break down the economy.

In their efforts to prevent any further damage at power stations, De Ruyter has urged the police and security companies alike to support them in this decision.
De Ruyter said, “there is evidence that there was some cutting instrument involved; whether that is a hack saw or an angle grinder”.
Andre De Ruyter has also confirmed that there have been countless incidents of suspicious acts that led to the country having different stages of load-shedding implemented. In some cases, people have had to without electricity for as long as 12 hours.
As far as De Ruyters is concerned, he recently stated that if the government has lost faith in him, they should request him to stand down.
