Malema, accompanied by Floyd Shivambu and Fana Mokoena, addressed the Mooiplaas community – who came out in their numbers to hear him speak – near Laudium in Pretoria. He owes the taxman around R16 million in taxes and interest, and in accordance with the Constitution, a person who is sequestrated cannot be a member of parliament. But Juju says the court order, the police, the hawks or any law enforcement agency will not deny him an opportunity to become a member of parliament after the elections.
“We are going to parliament. There is no SARS that can be used to stop us from going to parliament. There are no wards which can stop us from going to parliament. SARS doesn’t vote for people to go to parliament. You are the ones who send people to parliament if you want us to go to parliament.”
Juju also displayed a bit of a death wish and love for the poor. “We will die with you. We will die and be buried with you because we belong to you. No one will separate us from the poor. We represent the poor and we are proud to be representing you because your struggle is our struggle. Your pain is our pain. Your suffering is our suffering. We don’t read about your misery. We’ve lived that misery. We know this misery emotionally and physically.”
Clearly it’s election time in SA.
