Winter Olympics is something every athlete looks forward to. This is generally a way for athletes to make more of a name for themselves as well as prove that they are worthy of being watched.
This time around, the Olympic games could not be postponed again and Beijing has gone through some extreme measures to make sure it is a Covid-19 safe place.
Presently, those who are not vaccinated need to undergo a 21-day quarantine. All of the athletes are tested every day to make sure they are able to participate in the games. One athlete has already been scrapped from the list for testing positive.
So, why is the Winter Olympics in Beijing?
Well, despite the fact that Beijing is a very controversial place, no one else wanted to host. Regardless of the fact that Beijing does not have any snow, they sure are making provisions for it to be a memorable event.
According to Yahoo, because we’re still in the midst of a pandemic, no fans will be allowed on the premises. This will take away from the feel of the Olympics as there will be no fans to cheer the athletes on. Nevertheless, the event is still happening, and it’s happening on schedule!

Currently, there are seven new sports that will be present at the Winter Olympics. This is exciting as this leaves more room for different niches. The new sports are as follows:
Monobob
Big Air in Freestyle skiing
Snowboard cross
Aerials
Short-track speedskating
Ski Jumping
Now, while there is no room for fans or any of the general public allowed at the games, some of the big names such as presidents of the different countries will be in attendance. This, of course, excludes the United States are boycotting the event. The boycott is a result of China’s basic human rights policies.
