So a few facts out on the news regarding the trip:
They claim:
- they gave the meat from dead animals to impoverished local villagers. Zimbabwe’s Answer: There are no villages in the northwestern Matetsi district of Zimbabwe where they hunted.
- they were hunting in an area with an excess of elephants. Zimbabwe’s Answer: In recent years Zimbabwe has not been able to cull elephants in districts where increasing herds are destroying the bush habitat that other species depend on.
The trip was organised by Pretoria-based Hunting Legends International, which specialises in big game hunts for the wealthy. The company has insisted that the hunt near the world-famous Victoria Falls was completely legal, and has kept pictures of the Trumps with their kills on its website.
