It follows a complaint that Bell Pottinger exploiting racial tensions in South Africa while working as spin doctors for the Gupta family.
The association’s disciplinary committee heard argument from the company and the Democratic Alliance (DA) in London last week. Bell Pottinger fired a lead partner‚ and suspended another partner and two employees‚ in the wake of accusations that it contributed to campaigns to stir up racial division. The DA had brought the complaint after leaked emails suggested that Bell Pottinger tried to stir racial tension in South Africa through campaigns for the Gupta-owned Oakbay.
According to a report by Eyewitness News, an association director has confirmed that if the committee had found in favour of Bell Pottinger, it would’ve made an announcement by now.
Bell Pottinger has five days to appeal a finding. The PRCA will announce a final decision on 4 September.
