We asked ourselves why so many weird stuff have been found in food lately – especially with regards to Woolworths? Are they easy targets?
Well, as always we have been out there trying to find answers. And we stumbled on a very interesting piece of information thanks to Google and Facebook.
It seems the complainant in this case – one CARMELITA PIENAAR – is either an extremely unlucky fast food buyer or… (dare we mention anything at this point, or will we allow you to decide?)
There is in fact 6 Facebook profiles for a Carmelita Pienaar. We are not saying “they” are all the same person, all close friends that looks similar or even closely related to each other. What we can say is that 5 of the Camelita Pienaars on Facebook look extremely similar although some have different profiles pics. Most of the Carmelita’s on Facebook also amazingly have – mostly – the same friends (we checked more than just a few). At least one of Carmelita Pienaar profiles works at Pick ‘n’ Pay.
So what’s wrong with having multiple Facebook profiles with the same name (5) and so what if one of those is marked as working at Pick ‘n’ Pay? WELL seems this multiple facebook profile person is REALLY unlucky because she found a piece of hair and a nail in her Streetwise from KFC only about 5 months ago. Show some sympathy for Carmelita – or ask, why is the poor Carmelita so unlucky? Now go and buy a Woolworths Steak & Kidney pie it appears like it’s not mouse flavour 😉
UPDATE: IOL also reported on the subject on the 03/06/2016. To summarize their follow up post;
In a statement, Woolworths said: “Following an investigation, we can confirm that the mouse was not baked into the pie at our store but was rather put in it post production.”
Pienaar, who vomited after biting into the pie and complained of an itchy rash on her body, resents the implication that she may have put the mouse in the pie herself.
“I dunno how it got there,” the outraged woman said.
