The opposition DA says in a statement that if the ANC was at all serious about stopping the massive abuse of state power revealed over the past week, they would have recalled President Zuma when they had the chance.
That chance came and went during this weekend’s ANC National Executive Meeting. The NEC should have, says the DA, joined them in laying charges against the Guptas for seeking to improperly benefit from state deals; approached the Public Protector to investigate the numerous ‘Zuptagate’ scandals; and undertaken to have no further dealings whatsoever with the Guptas.
Now they are sitting down with the Guptas to work out some cosy deal.
The ANC is in fact morally bankrupt; determined to protect – not fight – corruption and state capture, by the wealthy and politically connected few.
The DA has now asked all South Africans to reject out of hand this attempt at undermining the South African Constitution, “which so many fought and died for”.
