What is the exhibition about?
The exhibition South African Moments captures the vitality of life in contemporary South Africa. Erina’s vivid and colourful paintings depict sunny South Africa and its rainbow nation, drawing inspiration from the beauty of the natural world and people, especially women. This exhibition captures everyday life moments, telling a story of love and labour.
Erina Abraham lives and creates her art in Johannesburg and has been an artist there for more than 25 years.
Regarding this art show, Abraham stated “I am very excited to be bringing a taste of South Africa to London. I look forward to sharing my inspirations with a new audience. The show will be a celebration of South African life and culture.”

Venue: 54 the Gallery, Shepherd Market, Mayfair.
54 the Gallery is located in Shepherd Market, surrounded by fabulous restaurants and quaint shops. Conveniently located in the heart of Mayfair, the exhibition is just five minutes’ walk from Green Park station.
Dates and times: The exhibition will run from 30 July to 5 August 2018 from 10:00 until 19:00, with private viewings from Tuesday to Thursday from 18.30 to 20.30.
About Erina Abraham
Erina Abraham was born in South Africa in 1956 and grew up on a farm close to the Botswana border. She currently resides in Helderkruin, Johannesburg. She studied in Pretoria, and is married with two sons and two grandchildren.
Born a natural painter, and influenced by a family friend, the late Carl Buchner, Erina developed her own style over the years. Her work has matured to the extent that is has become instantly recognisable. Once seen, it is imminently memorable.
Erina’s paintings are sold in galleries throughout South Africa and can be found in many prestigious and private collections in South Africa and abroad. She often takes on commissions for private collectors and companies. In 2011 Erina Abraham was awarded the ‘New Signature of the Year’ by well-known SA Alice Art Gallery.
