You’d be forgiven for believing that we live in an upside down world. With COVID-19, lockdown restrictions and everything else in-between, life feels pretty upside down and around and around.
The perfect place to visit to make sense of this time is the Upside Down House – it’ll also give you a much-needed break from reality.

What is the Upside Down House?
It is exactly what it says it is – a house built the wrong way around. On the outside, the house lies on its roof and it gets all the more crazy when you step inside. All the rooms are the wrong way around – everything you would normally find on the floor is on the ceiling. When you readjust your mind to this reality, you see things from a completely new perspective.
It is mind-altering and so much fun to live the wrong way around. The rooms are set up for you to take the best pictures and you should – no one is going to believe you walked through an upside down house.
The property is also built at an angle which adds to the illusion of weirdness when you enter and exit.
The house is located an hour away from Johannesburg in the North-West province which is perfect for a fun family day away from the house. Goodness knows you need it!
In a world that feels upside down right now, the house fits in perfectly!
