Emerging South African songbird and fast becoming international Afro-soul star Nomfusi and her six piece band, The Lucky Charms, will be playing a few gigs in the Netherlands, Germany and Canada over the next few months!
On 30 May, Nomfusi will perform at the Dunya Festival in Rotterdam, one of the biggest world music festivals in the Netherlands. Shortly following this on 5 June, she will be sharing the bill with award-winning Afropop group Freshlyground at the Afrika Festival in Osnabruck, Germany.
Mid-July will see Nomfusi and her band embark on a five week coast-to-coast tour of Canada, which includes dates in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.
Part of the Canadian tour will see Nomfusi share the stage with Somali-born Canadian rapper, K'Naan, the guy who sings the World Cup 'Waving Flag' song. She is also supporting K'Naan for four concerts on his 225 day Coca Cola FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour. These events will take place at the O.R. Tambo Sports Centre in Khayelitsha, the Civic Hall in Athlone, the V & A Waterfont and Kleinplasie in Worcester between 7 and 10 May.
